Botox-vs-Dysport.webp

Dysport

Dysport is a prescription injection used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines (glabellar lines) in adults. It works by relaxing the muscles that cause these lines, resulting in a smoother, more refreshed look. Dysport is an alternative to Botox and uses a similar active ingredient, botulinum toxin type A

How it works:

Dysport contains a purified protein that, when injected, blocks nerve signals to muscles, preventing them from contracting. This temporary muscle relaxation smooths out wrinkles and fine lines, particularly those in the forehead and between the eyebrows.

Duration of effects:

Dysport results typically become noticeable within a few days after treatment, with the full effect appearing within 2-3 days. The effects can last for up to 4-5 months.

Side effects:

Common side effects include temporary pain or swelling at the injection site, headache, and nose and throat irritation. More serious side effects, though rare, can include allergic reactions, vision changes, and difficulty swallowing.
